The Flying Brick Library is opening November 30th!

506 S Pine Street, in Oregon Hill. Richmond, Va

They will be open Mondays from 9-4 and Thursdays from 4-9.
After the New Year they hope to expand their hours!

I will be the librarian for most Thursdays, so come on in and say Hi.




RVA Food Not Bombs has moved it location to 710 N Boulevard.

We still serve at 4 in Monroe Park, on the corner of Main and Belvidere.

FNB will be moving again around the New Year to a more permanent space at 2005 Barton Ave,
Also known as the Wingnut House.



And in personal news, I hope to move into the house at 710 N Boulevard in June, home of the Vegan Potluck RVA and Charlie Mansion House Shows. There will be almost an entirely new set of people moving in and we hope to start on even more fabulous projects and events!

You guys have gots to come visit. Especially you assholes who have gotten engaged and I haven't seen you since. Well, ok, Zane I saw once.......Anyway, missin' you dudes.

Probably spend a few days in DC and the surrounding area, then a few in Baltimore to check out the Infoshop and other attractions. We have a rideshare to Pittsburgh on the 20th with a couple dudes. For the CWC Convergence. Then its back to RVA by the 29th for the FNB House Show featuring Timbre, Laurel Lane, Alison Self, and The Soil and the Sun!!!

THEN I'm headed back to Frederick, MD for my cousin's wedding. WTF

Swine Flu, Touring, Hobos, and Vegans

While the world is being brought to its knees by swine and their powerful (yet seemingly non-lethal) biological warfare, Alison and I have been getting a good tour of our beloved home state. We've seen taints......we've seen glue factories being converted for the inevitable collapse of civilization (perhaps the Muslims and Jews were right? Pigs ARE evil!)....We've been welcomed into every town by new, exciting people....from drunken college mall punks, to trainhoppers, gardening hippie activists, dancers and artists who love a good Neutral Milk Hotel cover, and new pals in Norfolk working to build a larger radical community.

The scenery in West Virginia and the Blue Ridge Mountains was absolutely stunning (although my car wanted to kill me I'm sure) and was made all the better with a six-disc compilation of American Folk Music.

Now we are eating vegan bagels in Norfolk, and are about to head back to good ol' RVA for the May Day celebrations! Will update with pictures soon!

What the fuck?

I don't know, so I felt like writing something. I am waiting to meet Aaron at Harrison Street Coffee Shop, then we are going to get some groceries because Joon and I used up the very little bit that was left making mashed potatoes from dumpstered taters and a dumpstered bean and cheese burrito. I am starting to get a little nervous about not having a job, just because I am used to having a bit of a "cushion" of saved cash and I will probably run my funds pretty fucking low. O well, what good is it sitting in the fucking bank anyway, right?

Yesterday for Food Not Bombs, Goad and I went to Harrison Street to get ice and ridiculous amounts of coffee for the meal. It was fun. He invented a new version of Freeganism. Free-Edge. You can only drink alcohol if you dumpster it...........good joke.

Just got together a loose intinerary for my time on the road with Alison. I leave from school Friday, the 24th and drive 6 FUCKING HOURS to Morgantown, WV after taking my last test in Algebra that I am already failing. WhOOPEE! Good day really.
